Proposed subject line: Overview of personal digital certificates and digitally signing online leave reports

Just a reminder that there is another presentation on the personal digital certificates project next Tuesday, December 5th. In order to accomodate the room capacity we're requesting that you register if you plan to attend.

To register RSVP to Sue Stewart at sustew@vt.edu or by calling 231-7553.

In the event that registration exceeds the room capacity, more presentations will be scheduled and announced.

If you want more information about Information Technologies implementation of personal digital certificates (PDC) and their use for digitally signing your leave report, come to an overview presentation.

On Tuesday, December 5, 2006 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in RB14 conference room 115.
* Following the presentation a demonstration is available on preparing your computer and using your PDC in room 109, the classroom adjacent to conference room 115.

The presentation will cover:
Why are we doing this?
What exactly is a personal digital certificate?
What is a digital signature and why do we need it?
What you need to do to get your PDC.
Preparing your computer and browser.
Using your PDC for leave reporting.

For anyone that attended the November security task force meeting on Tuesday, November 7th, or the presentation on Friday, November 10th, this is the same presentation so, unless you care to, there is no need to attend.
