Documentation and Communication Sub-project

Purpose:

• This sub-project of the larger Public Key Infrastructure - Personal Digital Certificates project will address documentation roles and responsibilities as well as internal and external communications for the entire PKI-PDC project.
• Coordination and monitoring of sub-project communications, project status updates, and stakeholder announcements serve to keep the project on track and within budget.
• Clearly defined responsibilities for documentation authoring, updating, maintenance and storage should enable information to be up to date and available when needed. 

Weekly meetings are held unless there are no agenda items. Formal e-mail communications regarding PDCs are presented to the team for review and approval. Depending upon the topic of communication, e-mail communications are sent to the PDC user community by Greg or Mary or by Jeb Stewart on behalf of Erv Blythe.  

The www.pki.vt.edu and www.pki.vt.edu/pdc web sites are hosted at  www.hosting.vt.edu and are administered as described at http://www.computing.vt.edu/internet_and_web/web_publishing/web_hosting/ . Major additions and changes to be posted to the web sites are presented to the team for review and approval. Items to be posted are reviewed by SETI Test and Deployment, and are then sent to the site maintainer by Greg or Mary. Minor revisions and corrections are brought to the attention of the maintainer from the any PDC project team member, SETI TAD or 4Help, and are posted at the discretion of the site maintainer.
