- PB: There are clearly standard ways to configure fingerprints. Do biometric devices use these standards? I.e. can a brand x and brand y fingerprint reader be substituted for each other like smart card readers?
- PB: If the fingerprint reader delivers a standard "hash" of the fingerprint, how is the reader authenticated to the host system? It seems this would require cryptographic authentication to be sure you are talking to the reader and not something that simulates it.
- PB: We would need to experiment with making fake fingerprints to see what readers can be fooled.
