Please note that websites using the Percussion Rhythmyx CMS (aka old Ensemble) will become Web Hosting sites starting on March 15th, to coincide with the previously-announced end date for Percussion Rhythmyx. The next 7 days will be your last opportunity to make changes to your pages using the Percussion CMS.

After this conversion, your site will still be hosted and live but changes will need to be made to the HTML and CSS versions of your site on web hosting and not through Percussion. Changes to navigation will require modifications to be made in dozens or even hundreds of files, depending on the complexity of your site. Likewise, briefs will need to be edited in each place they are used. To access your pages after the conversion, use https://secure.hosting.vt.edu/admin/

If you need to create a modern Ensemble site, request one by creating a ticket at ensemble.cms.vt.edu and click the "Request CMS Support" button in the bottom right of the window.

Note that in the original announcement on December 8, 2016, we stated that Ensemble did not support PID authenticated pages. While that is still true, access pages are currently under development and should be released in Ensemble in the near future. New AEM uses E.D. groups for ownership. 

Face-to-face meetings will all users have also been held. 

Some of Banner 9 environment is now in Docker. 

Google Support Team:

Joint IT/DSA effort to move Registered Student Organizations off of web hosting to Google Sites will provide some relief from impacts resulting from the work.  

DC Program-Storage Management Team:

• NetApp and VNX devices in Cassell will be affected by a Fiber Channel switch move (one physical location to another; one switch at a time). Post March 15th. NetApp will also have an IP address change done. Affected services-TSM Server, DBAA standby DBs, 2 of 5 Weblogic devices, perhaps some email routing devices. As much advanced work as possible will be done to decrease time. Paths will be verified as viable before work begins. 
• All NetApp devices need to have firmware updates applied. Will use maintenance windows, and tasks will likely not cause impact. Sometime in April is envisioned so far. Three hours is probable; start at midnight. 
  • Dates, once firm, will be posted to the SAMS calendar and the group will be notified. 

DC Program-Data Center:

• Generator load tests need to be scheduled. 
• Improved generator monitoring is needed. 

NI&S Application Management: 

• VT Alerts updated performed this morning. 

DC Program-UAS: 

• Splunk is up for maintenance. Also OS patches and updates will be performed. 

SIS/QA: 

• ED 4.3 is now in production. Will support use of DATng by ITC. 
  • Full deprecation of old DAT will likely be after next release 4.4 sometime in April. 
  • Question about training and permissions.
