NI&S DCP/Storage Mgmt Team:

Still need a maintenance window for Network Attached storage cluster known as VTstore01, storage.vt.edu, minnow.cc.vt.edu, and skipper.cc.vt.edu. Need two days; expected time to complete is 2 hours. NFS users will see a network pause; CIFS users will have to re-logon; block storage will use alternate paths. A night next week for Phase one is likely. Week of 23rd is problematic due to ARC class usage. Phase two/Upgrade likely to be week of 7/29 due to longer impact.

DBAA:

August 5th Banner Financial Aid module upgrade.

CCS:

Exchange mail flow change currently we have a "hybrid bridge" in place between the mail servers onprem and cloud so that email comes to onprem first then is pushed to the cloud we're going to make the changes needed to have exchange mail go right to the cloud some server config timed with DNS changes on MX and autodiscover records.  We've asked Phil/Wendy if they could do a DNS change on Saturday, July 28th at 6am.  Wendy is out, if the 28th isn't possible we'll shift to Monday July 30th at 6am.  Won't know a final date until next week. Should be transparent to end users (mail will actually deliver marginally faster to exchange by skipping one hop if they were to notice anything). Backout plans to put things back as they were if any problems arise but we’ve tested this through our DEV and TEST environments.

NI&S Facilities:

Switchroom generator load transfer test scheduled for week of August 13th-17th.

Data Analytics Project:

Nothing to report, but Karen will begin attending in new capacity.

Data Center Program and MPA group:

Noticed network maintenance impacted routes to Cassell. Need to analyze why this happened and what can be done to improve the configuration.

Week of July 23rd will see ARC migrating to the new Data Center network equipment as long as this doesn't impact the ARC class mentioned above. Old equipment is at least 7 years old so all data center residents will be moved over the next 4 months.
