There has been ongoing interest, from departments (Peter Franchi and Kim Ascue have both pinged me), in the ability to keep applications up to date. We have a quote, attached, for a VT site license. This is VERY cheap!
Peter's comments: " I have been looking at Secunia CSI as it keeps all applications up to date (Flash, Firefox, Abobe) in the back ground and is transparent to the end user.
This would really help us battle these random infections we are seeing due to Flash etc not being kept up to date by the end user..
This is exactly what Marc DeBonis was talking to you about apparently. I have been speaking to Joe (Another Brit in Denmark) and got this quote from him which is substantially lower than one Marc got.. It’s a site license and would cover EVERYONE at tech.. Ok It’s an overseas company and hence tax issues.. BUT We CAN buy it through Dell."
ITA/Patty Branscome was approached but was concerned about how to pay for the product. I think this would be a good product, integrated with VT WSUS, to offer to departments. This would save MANY lost man hours from exploits from products such as Adobe Flash, etc. Would also assist us in keeping desktops up to date! There are currently 900+ VT WSUS users. If we offered this option as well, I see that number increasing.
