DBAA: SAN maintenance pushed Banner upgrade out 'til April; minor update only.
VTOC/UCS: N/A
CTSSR: Jean will begin attending these as CTSSR is charged with documenting IT COOP plans; updates are due this week in fact. IT also just went through at IA DR audit.
SMT: SAN maintenance is needed for camera system. Will discuss with OEM/VTPD and need to be sure we know what hosts are attached. Some may need to be switched to Cassell. "Trespass" issue is still occurring on enterprise VNX SAN; EMC believes it may be a host issue. Trespass issue was why the entire SAN had to come down. This should not be the case for the camera SAN.
LT: Scholar upgrade still on schedule for weekend of graduation. Refreshes will be kept to a minimum. Question about SSL certs; NI&S has a project with the possible use of Zabix.
IMS: N/A
NI&S QA: Spreadsheet for SAMSWise still needs review and updating. Will move this to IT-SAMS home page/space.
Data Center Management: Finally received final inspection for generator and UPS additions.
SETI QA: N/A
CNS PR: Families of graduation students will be housed on campus. What about wireless? Jeff will check to see if there is interest. Time is now to register.Summer activities are also be planned. Planned events should be placed on an IT calendar to ensure we don't take services down that are expected.
Added in proof: Housing's Guest & Conference Services unit sets up university wireless network access for guests, if requested. They don't keep numbers, but Eric Wininger said a rough guesstimate would be about 75 users for commencement and summer conferences combined.
CNS NE: Internet access will be curtailed tomorrow morning beginning at 5am. An hour is needed, but 2 are scheduled.
- Discussion ensued on IA Audit and need for geo-diversity. There is a need for boosting UVA presence. Cassell is too close according to the auditors. H.A. site should be considered to be UVA not Cassell. DBAA has hardware already, but would need to relocate. Network support infrastructure, including load balancing and DNS, would need to be included. (BJ and WCD will discuss.) What about using VTCRI in Roanoke?
- Second location needs the same type of connectivity as the AISB.
- What data would we lose if a disaster occurs?
