Present: Bill Dooley-DBAA; Bill deWindt-Learning Technologies; Lylah Shelor-Facilities; Karen Herrington-IMS; Kimberley Homer-SETI Testing; Flex Vaughn-UCS; Brian Jones-CNS; Susan Brooker-Gross-IT Policy office; William Dougherty-chair and scribe.

Bill deWindt-Learning Technologies: Saturday, May 15 when we'll be doing a major upgrade to Scholar. We don't yet have an estimate of the duration of the outage for that date, but based on past experience they're not expecting it to go past mid-morning. Strictly software from 2.54 to 2.62 on the front-end servers, no database component will be affected. This is commencement day, but it is the only day available.

Bill Dooley-Enterprise Systems: nothing new to report.

Karen Herrington-IMS/ITSO: Middleware and CAS updates coming, but no dates yet.

Kim Homer-SETI: Changes to an Active Directory administrator's tool, will be transparent to users as it really affects IMS users; Token Administration System will switch to EJBCA (from OpenCA) in May. This will also likely be transparent to users.

Brian Jones- Network Engineering: Continuing 100Mb upgrades throughout campus. This is being coordinated through Deans and Dept Heads and VT-DNET; one building at a time. Outages are kept to a minimum wherever possible. Some of this is being done during regular maintenance windows (mornings) and some in the evenings.

Flex Vaughn-UCS: A new version of TAS (Token Administration System) will be deployed when it has been tested, but testing has not started on that yet, so it will probably not be deployed until May.

Lylah Shelor-Facilities:  Load Bank on both generators will be tested on April 22 and 23, but should have no impact.

Kevin Shinpaugh-ARC: New GPU cluster due; CS Dept. prof also received grant for a new cluster.

Power upgrade for the Data Center is ongoing although this should not disrupt ongoing production activities.
