DBAA: We'll have the spring Banner upgrade on Sunday, April 14th. Start at 6am, until 11am. Alumni and FinAid installs.
Details can be found here: https://apps.es.vt.edu/ons/event/view/1198?date=2013-04-14
Learning Technologies: Our yearly Scholar upgrade will take place on May 18, 2013 with an announced outage window from 5AM until 5PM to give us time in the event anything unexpected occurs. We expect service to be restored well before 5PM as we will be performing the entire upgrade process on preprod in the week leading up to the outage to get more definitive times for each step, but we feel it's better to err on the side of caution by advertising such a long window.
Over the coming months there will be various maintenance outages as VBS is migrated from their current rack and infrastructure into LT's networks as a continuing effort to merge VBS and LT progresses. Dates for these outages have not yet been determined, but once they are I will let this group know. For this upcoming SAMS meeting however, if Wanda's group will have a representative present I would like to briefly speak about their storage needs so that LT can plan these transitions to be as smooth as possible.
Facilities: The load bank test for the data center generators has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 15th and Thursday, May 16th. No disruption in service is anticipated.
SAMWise update: See attached screenshots from latest development effort. Question arose as to how the "approval" process works for needed maintenance. We may need to identify and document a process, although the group seemed to think that the collaborative work done while addressing maintenance needs during meetings was really "the process."
Data Center: Wish to schedule thermal imaging tests to analyze heat in the PDUs. Break week after graduation is a possibility. Little to no risk.
COOP/DR from Jean: She's interested in hearing about maintenance activities to update COOP plans and/or use as exercises to test plans.Jean is willing to help with documentation.
SMT: Update on camera system SAN is being planned.
CNS: Internet access down; July 26th, 11pm-7am, August 9th, 11pm to 7am.
SETI: Middleware going to preprod April 22nd; hope to go to prod by end of May. Should allow for Google groups.
