* There may be additional services administered outside of ES impacted as well.
Future events: Same services as above, October 15th @ 12am through 3pm on October 15th; DBs being moved to virtualization equipment.
Also extended outage on November 19th and 20th (6am 'til noon, approximately).
Above is subject to change.
PKI: Saturday, September 24th, 2011. EJBCA maintenance; web form to request certificates will not be available. Specific times to be posted later.
UCS: Mentions that extended holiday closing impacts on call center. Only password changes and KB articles will be pushed to users. Web form will be offline. Needs emergency contacts from LT and IMS. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day will be staffed, but minimally. ESS special procedures need to be established.
MSIS: Problem exists with one of the domain controllers for A.D. Issue seems to be associated with Symantec A/V and a memory leak.
Password change project for Hokies: 4/4 compliance is coming. This will make it consistent with PID and ORACLE rules (aside from character length). Scheduled for Wednesday, September 28th, 2011 @ 6am. This will require a reboot of DCs. A companion update to Hokies Self Service documentation.
***IT Managers will be informed of impact on support services during the Christmas Break.***
UCS is requesting some info on account recovery to be incorporated into the DAT. Middleware will be asked. UCS will be providing an idea of what info they could use. Issue with DAT screen real estate was raised.
SBG: At the next Enterprise Directory deployment, the default for display of student PIDs and e-mail will be to be suppressed from PeopleSearch. This info will continue to be displayed in the DAT. ED-ID Services that request e-mail address may be affected. Schedule yet to be announced for this change, but will certainly impact student creation for Fall 2012. What impact will this have on Scholar? Privacy issues are hot topics for all IT groups currently. KB article updates are also likely needed. Suppression does NOT EQUAL Confidentiality. Some user education.
