NI&S:
We would like to replace the automatic transfer switch in Burruss on Jan. 16 starting at 7 pm. This will involve turning off the power to the emergency power panel for approximately 15 minutes to run temporary power to the panel while the ATS is replaced. The most important equipment (core/border and UC racks) has dual power feeds and UPS power feeds and should remain up, even though there is slight chance of an interruption in service.
The power will be turned off to the emergency panel again for about 15 minutes after the installation is completed to connect it to the new ATS. A load transfer test will be done.
Some equipment on the emergency panel but not on UPS may go down, but we believe that all critical equipment has another power feed from the utility side.
No issues were raised by the committee.

Halon work in the Data Center is ongoing. Sensors are being replaced and room 119 is being taken off the system. Major maintenance is recommended for UPSes so will be scheduled over the next couple of months. All work will require generator activity as the UPSes will be offline for part of this.
