TLOS:

From Bill deWindt--TLOS has some news to update the group on this time around. As I hope everyone is well aware of, Scholar will be going offline on May 20th except for TLOS support personnel in the event a customer contacts us and needs data exported. This is the first phase of our downsizing which was mandated by upper management. The next stages will be shutting down SPOT and NLI but no timeframe has been determined for those services, so stay tuned. Also as some of you are already aware of I have moved out of AISB and am officially a telecommuter. So if you need to get in touch with me please use email, call my cell number (540-577-2592) or get in touch with John Homer on the first floor at AISB since he can get me immediately using Slack.

DC Manager:

Load bank testing has been occurring over the last two days; due to the power outage this a.m., final tests will be postponed. Description of this morning's events; fan failure on one chiller caused a ground fault which caused the generator to come online. Then a second chiller failed so HPC equipment started heating up the D.C. HVAC vendor was onsite and was resetting breakers; also accidentally/inadvertently switched the maintenance isolation breaker on the UPS thus cutting off all utility power to B feed so only affected HPC/ARC and a few other servers (VT Alerts; old physical servers with only one power supply, orders have already been placed to replace these). ARC systems now under recovery, but some will be left offline for maintenance.

NI&S Application Management:

Wednesday May 17, 6am-7am, ATLAS and NEMISYS database maintenance.

Tuesday May 16 or Thursday May 18, 6am-7am KESTREL and COLA database maintenance (depends on NE scheduled maintenance).

DBAA:

Survey.vt.edu is scheduled to go away at the end of May. It was left up for a small group over this semester.

NI&S Comm:
