Data Center Facilities Manager:
Things I have on the list (but not with fixed dates):
1. LSI for UPS-A battery replacement was approved. Will need to schedule, but this UPS has parallel strings, so it should stay up the entire time.
2. LSI for generator monitoring and control panel replacement was approved. New wire needs to be pulled from the older generators to accommodate the new transmission protocols. When the replacement starts, the generators (600kW and 1750kW, 2000kW is fine) will be off-line (one at a time). Though it's quite rare that we ever go on-generator.
3. I'd like to hear our timeline for moving remaining databases to ODA. The VNX is long out of service and has drives failing regularly. It needs to be retired. â End of September is current schedule.
NI&S Application Administration:
Some VT Alerts maintenance will be performed before the start of the semester.
ITEE:
Production ServiceNow instance upgrade from Kingston Patch 4 to Kingston Patch 7 on August 15, 2018 between 6am and 7am. There should be no downtime associated with this upgrade. Kingston Patch 7 is on dev and test for anyone who wishes to test functionality.
Kingston Patch 7 release note:
NEO/DCP:
AISB Datacenter status update.
- ARC and HPC migrated to the new network
- Engineers currently fine-tuning the network
- NIS is gathering info about current DC customer services. Will assess and plan migration, communication and schedule (anticipate early/mid September to begin migrations working closely with application owners)
- There will be no changes/migrations during Fall Rush
