This report shows mean ratings for each instructor, section, and course within a department.
Responses are collected on a six-point scale, where 1 = strongly disagree and 6 = strongly agree. Higher ratings are better.
Security settings impact what you see! The report includes only instructors, sections, and courses that are associated with your personal access settings.
What information is provided on the default view?
Instructors tab
Default view shows mean ratings for each instructor within a department. It is sorted by term and question within department. Use the GROUPING option (top of the report) to choose the department.
Instructor Course Count indicates courses taught by the instructor (and participating in the SPOT process) in the given department.
Instructor Section Count indicates sections taught by the instructor (and participating in the SPOT process) in the given department.
Instructor Participants is a count of students who responded to one or more of the standard questions for the given instructor.
Instructor Participation Rate is calculated by dividing the number of actual participants by the number of possible participants.
Instructor Mean is the average rating for an instructor (including all sections taught).
Sections tab
Default view shows mean ratings for each section within a department. It is sorted by course title, course number, subject, term, and question with department. Use the GROUPING option (top of the report) to choose the department.
Section Participants is a count of students who responded to one or more of the standard questions for the given section.
Section Participation Rate is calculated by dividing the number of actual participants by the number of possible participants for the given section.
Section Mean is the average ratings for a section (including all instructors).
