Meeting Notes

  1. Ken McCrery gave a demo and lead discussions regarding the Account Manager application.

  2. The CAS account recovery screen (with the green arrows) belongs to Middleware. 4help recommends removing the green arrows because they are nonfunctional.
  3. When IPS was brought into this project it was not relayed to them that the UI should be similar to Google's. This is also not in the software requirements spec.
  4. Finish & Cancel buttons
    1. Since cancel does not cancel all actions on the page perhaps change this to "Exit".
    2. Needs to be an atomic save (saves everything on the page) and a cancel buttons that does not save any changes made on the page.
  5. 4Help option is not the same as other options, it is bullion, on or off, all other options need some sort of input.
  6. To change the Voice (IVR) option actual phone number the user must disable the old one and create a new one with a new phone number.
  7. Google & Yahoo OpenId
    1. The UI needs an indicator to show an option is/was set.
    2. Perhaps a small column on the left with a check mark or indicator that it is or is not set.
  8. E-mail notification functionality should be changed so any e-mail address can be entered. That includes an @vt.edu address in case the user wants to send a notification to another vt.edu user like a parent or supervisor, or whomever.
  9. Discussion about the default value of the call 4Help option.
    1. Should this be initialized in the database?
    2. Should it be set once the user clicks "Finish" otherwise it remains null?
    3. Progammatically we should key on the date the option is set not on whether the 4Help option is null or not.
    4. The 4Help DAT view needs to display whether the user can have their password reset by 4Help at all (because they opted to disable the call 4Help option). This needs to be on the initial DAT screen (not on subsequent or hidden screens).
  10. Greg will schedule a special meeting of the technical team ASAP to discuss default option values versus user settable values.
