Agenda
- Begin Scope development
- Continue review of these Background Questions. Especially questions regarding key retrieval.
- What else is needed to define the scope of the entire project?
- Agreement on functional specs, for user interface and administrator interface.
- Focus groups with potential users.
- PMA initial signoff
- review resource requirements
- recommend a small, controlled roll-out initially.
- Next steps?
- Is this the correct team for "Policy Development" phase of project? Do we need any other stakeholders involved?
We need internal audit at some point. Erv asked Mary to creat a 30-minute presentation for the auditors, to include soft PDCs and InCommon Silver. Since Internal Audit would need to assess whether VT soft PDCs are in compliance with InCommon Silver, IA needs to be briefed on both initiatives.
Stakehholders will be invited from those we think have a use for the soft PDCs, plus a message to techsupport. One group would be more technical IT representatives. Research users would comprise a different focus group. Thay may be required to use InCommon Silver credentials to access some applications (NIH, NSF). InCommon Silver might also be required for the National Student Clearning House. (This Silver information is not confirmed -- just from presentations Mary has attended through Educause & InCommon.) - What is the procedure for getting the PMA to vote on policy issues?
PMA meeting - Should we wait and present all policy issues to PMA at once or spread them out?
Identify dependencies and ask prerequisite questions first. - Business drivers?
Self-serv PWD reset
LOA 3 needs. There is currently a gap in between LOA 2 (PID) and LOA 4 (eToken PDC). Also may need for InCommon Silver, which POID probably does not meet today.
encryption needs - for files, to protect sensitive data
encrypted e-mail - What else is involved in Policy Development phase of project? i.e., Do we need to scope this phase or is it all policy decisions by PMA?
PMA - How do we handle the project management documentation for the entire project versus project phases?
- Recommendation: Treat this as a single project with details of each phase elaborated on as needed.

- Frank presented the beginning of his slides on functional specifications and questions from eProv. Will continue these June 10. Frank will post slides.
- Weekly project meetings now. Next meeting June 10, 2010
Action Item: Invite people to attend focus group meetings. Mary and Greg discuss how to go about this; i.e., messages to techsupport + individuals who we believe have a use case for the soft PDCs. Specific users to contact: Jeremy Sippel, Gary Worley, Ron Jarrell, Marc DeBonis. A separate group may include people who would need to access NIH, NSF, and National Student Clearing House applications using InCommon Silver credentials.
